History

Settled in 1878, Mirboo North is a historic and picturesque rural township at the top of the Strzelecki Ranges, 156kms southeast of Melbourne. Adorned with native flora, Mirboo North is decorated with the unique Lily, which has become its emblem and an important characteristic to its image.

Mirboo North Secondary College opened its doors to the community in 1955 and over the years has celebrated its success that has been developed, nurtured and created here on the windy ‘ridge’ in the rolling Strzelecki Ranges. (MNSC 50th Anniversary 1955-2005 p2&7)

Mirboo North Secondary College has a proud academic history and is enormously proud of the students that have achieved these results. Mirboo North have always offered a diverse range of co-curricular activities including Sport, Music, Landcare, Library and Language.

Over the years our dynamic and passionate teaching staff, that are devoted to students meeting their educational outcomes, have fostered generations of community minded and intelligent individuals. Mirboo North Secondary College has seen many changes over the years to its facilities and in 2014 opened its new state of the art facility.
