Music
Students at MNSC can pursue music through our instrumental music program and student-led clubs.
MNSC is a part of the South Gippsland Schools Music Program. This program facilitates instrumental lessons and ensemble experiences across five local secondary schools: Foster, Leongatha, Korumburra, Wonthaggi and Mirboo North. Instrumental lessons are provided each week on a wide range of instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, guitars) and every student participates in an ensemble for one hour a week. A highlight of the SGSMP is the Combined Band events which are held several times a year and culminate in the SGSMP Gala Event in early December.
Band opportunities at Mirboo North Secondary College include:
- Junior Band: Students who are learning an instrument for the first time form Junior Band
- Concert Band: This ensemble is made up of students who have been learning for between 2 – 4 years.
- Guitar Ensemble: Our guitar ensemble plans to give invaluable experience to our acoustic guitar students.
